Yuan Dynasty (1279–1368) official kiln porcelain plate.
This Blue and White ‘Mandarin Fish’ Plate captures the vitality and natural grace characteristic of early Yuan imperial porcelain. The design portrays mandarin fish swimming amidst water plants, symbolizing wealth, success, and abundant fortune—themes deeply admired in Yuan court culture.

Executed in rich underglazed cobalt blue, the imagery demonstrates the Yuan kilns’ technical innovation and fluid artistry, which laid the foundation for all subsequent blue-and-white porcelains. Each plate is handcrafted using authentic imperial kiln techniques, painted with natural mineral pigments, and fired up to 1280 °C in kiln to be finished products, keeping forever like a diamond.

This piece also reflects the Yuan dynasty’s pivotal role in combining Chinese aesthetic ideals with imported Western-Asian cobalt pigment technology, creating porcelains that achieved both spiritual depth and radiant brilliance.
