Yuan Dynasty (1279–1368) official kiln porcelain vase. This Blue and White Prunus Vase depicts the legendary historical scene of “Xiao He Yue Chasing Han Xin”, a story symbolizing loyalty, recognition of talent, and the rise of great leadership from early Han dynasty history. The vivid storytelling composition, rendered in underglazed cobalt blue, exemplifies the Yuan dynasty’s mastery of narrative painting on porcelain surfaces.

The vase’s prunus (plum) shape, dignified and graceful, highlights the depth of form and the dynamic flow of the brushwork. Each vase is handcrafted using authentic imperial kiln techniques, painted with natural mineral pigments, and fired up to 1280 °C in kiln to be finished products, keeping forever like a diamond.

This masterpiece reflects the Yuan dynasty’s integration of Chinese literary themes with Western-Asian cobalt pigment technology, marking the era when storytelling artistry and material innovation achieved imperial perfection.

Description

A blue and white prunus vase, painted on the belly with the historical story of "Xiao He Yue Chasing Han Xin", The images of Xiao He, Han Xin and Duke Tie are drawn with individuality, and with the background of pine, bamboo, plum, plantain, and rocks, they vividly unfold a historical picture. This porcelain vase is a very rare one in the world in that it has an image from a historical event. The skill in pre-forming, painting, glazing and firing of the prunus vase are all at the top level among ceramics from the late Yuan (1271-1368) to early Ming dynasties (1368-1644). It's now in collection of Nanjing Museum, China.

These handcrafted masterpieces are not allowed for return, except for quality issues, damage, or wrong items upon the receipt of items.

The returned/exchanged product must be in its original condition, unused and in its original packaging. Special order items cannot be returned.

As soon as you return your item to us and it's received into our system, we will expeditiously send a refund request to your bank. Please note that while the funds are instantly deducted from our account, some banks may take 5-7 business days to process and post these refunds to your account.
