This Doucai (Contrasting Colors) ‘Dragon’ Cup exemplifies the artistic excellence of the Chenghua imperial kilns, celebrated for their delicate enamel hues and balanced composition. The cup depicts a five-clawed imperial dragon—a sacred emblem of authority, vitality, and celestial power—surrounded by dynamic clouds symbolizing divine harmony.
The design showcases the renowned Doucai technique, combining underglazed cobalt blue outlines with layers of overglazed enamels in red, green, and yellow to create vibrant color contrast and intricate definition. Each cup is handcrafted using authentic imperial kiln techniques, painted with natural mineral pigments, and fired up to 1280 °C in kiln to be finished products, keeping forever like a diamond.
The Chenghua period marks the peak of early Ming porcelain artistry, achieving an elegant fusion of Chinese imperial symbolism with early Western color technology, resulting in porcelains admired for their refinement, luminosity, and poetic balance.

The returned/exchanged product must be in its original condition, unused and in its original packaging. Special order items cannot be returned.
