This Blue and White ‘Seven Scholars Scene’ Vase captures the intellectual spirit and refined aesthetic of the Kangxi imperial kilns. The continuous scene portrays seven scholars gathered in a tranquil garden, engaged in poetry, painting, and philosophical discourse — a celebration of wisdom, friendship, and scholarly virtue long cherished in Chinese literati culture.
Painted in deep cobalt-blue beneath a crystal glaze, the work demonstrates the technical brilliance and balanced composition characteristic of Kangxi’s blue-and-white porcelain. Each vase is handcrafted using imperial kiln techniques, painted with natural cobalt mineral pigments, and fired up to 1280 °C in kiln to be finished products, keeping forever like a diamond. During this enlightened reign, artisans integrated traditional Chinese brushwork with Western perspective and tonal shading, achieving exceptional realism and harmony.

The bottle vase has a globular body which leads to a long slender neck. The vase is elaborately decorated in a vivid blue underglaze with an ornate forest scene depicting seven scholars.
