Yuan Dynasty (1279 – 1368) official kiln porcelain vase. This Blue and White ‘Dragon’ Plum Vase (Meiping) represents one of the defining achievements of the Yuan imperial kilns. The vase features a five-clawed imperial dragon coiling among clouds and ocean waves, symbolizing sovereign power, vitality, and celestial balance—an emblem of the emperor’s divine authority.
Painted in rich underglazed cobalt blue, the brushwork reveals the dynamic energy and rhythmic composition characteristic of early Yuan porcelain. Each vase is handcrafted using authentic imperial kiln techniques, painted with natural mineral pigments, and fired up to 1280 °C in kiln to be finished products, keeping forever like a diamond.
The Meiping, or plum vase, with its broad shoulders and narrow neck, was traditionally used to display plum blossoms—symbolizing resilience and renewal. This piece also reflects the Yuan dynasty’s groundbreaking fusion of Chinese symbolic design with imported Western-Asian cobalt pigment technology, marking the birth of the imperial blue-and-white tradition.

The vase is decorated in the Yuan-style, with a painted scene of five claws imperial dragon soaring amidst flames and vapors between stylized foliage borders. Vigorous dragons chasing flaming pearl amidst flames against cobalt blue color scrolling cumulus clouds.

The returned/exchanged product must be in its original condition, unused and in its original packaging. Special order items cannot be returned.
