Qing Dynasty Yongzheng Emperor (1723 – 1735) official kiln porcelain vase. This Imperial Blue-and-White Globular Vase with Interlocking Lotus Designs reflects the serene refinement and technical perfection of Yongzheng’s reign. The elegant composition of continuous lotus scrolls, rendered in brilliant underglaze cobalt blue, symbolizes purity, eternal harmony, and enlightened virtue.

Each vase is handcrafted using authentic imperial kiln techniques, painted with natural cobalt mineral pigments, and fired up to 1280 °C in kiln to be finished products, keeping forever like a diamond. The balance of form and symmetry embodies the Yongzheng Emperor’s aesthetic pursuit of purity, order, and restrained grandeur, merging classical Chinese symbolism with delicate Western-inspired shading and depth.

Description

Imitation Qing dynasty blue-and-white globular vase with Interlocking Lotus design. The original is in the Palace Museum.

The vase has a straight neck, rounded shoulders, and swelling stomach. The shape of the vessel dates from the Ming Chenghua period and is derived from ancient Persian gold and silverware. The entire object is covered with interlocking lotus pattern with blue-and-white, meaning "cleanliness and honesty". The Yongzheng emperor's thunderbolt, during his reign, there was a "Yongzheng dynasty, no official unclear" is said. This vase has a dignified and beautiful shape, simple and smooth lines, brilliant blue and white hair, with graceful and elegant appearance of the times, typical of the porcelain used in the Qing dynasty.

About “TianQiuPing”

Tianqiuping (‘Globular’ vase) was created during the Ming dynasty. It is characterized by a small mouth, straight neck, globular body, and slightly concave base. During the Qing dynasty particularly in through the Qianlong period these became court favorites and were made using a wide variety of decorations. Among the wide range of antique Chinese vases this particular form is among the most enduring.
