This Blue and White ‘Dragon among Lotus’ Globular Vase embodies the grandeur and harmony of early Ming imperial porcelain. The design features a five-clawed imperial dragon coiling amidst lotus scrolls, representing sovereign power balanced by purity and virtue.
Painted in rich underglazed cobalt blue, the composition reflects the technical mastery and spiritual refinement of the Yongle kilns, where clarity of glaze and rhythmic brushwork reached unprecedented perfection. Each vase is handcrafted using authentic imperial kiln techniques, painted with natural mineral pigments, and fired up to 1280 °C in kiln to be finished products, keeping forever like a diamond.
The fusion of Chinese imperial symbolism with early Western cobalt sources gave the Yongle porcelains their distinctive deep-blue radiance and luminous translucence—hallmarks of the dynasty’s golden age of ceramic art.

The sturdily potted vase has a globular body surmounted by a tall cylindrical neck and is vividly painted in deep cobalt blue with a sizzling dragon with curly tongue and large claws meanders writhing amidst lotus scrolls.
