This vase has a round mouth, a short neck, a broad upper and lower convergence, a large spherical abdomen. The entire object is decorated with blue-and-white designs. There are winter pattern and cloud scrolls around the mouth and neck and dragons among cloud on the body. The fierce white dragon roaming in clouds with its head turned back, whiskers fluttering and claws extended looks as if it is about to come to life.

Tianqiuping (‘Globular’ vase) was created during the Ming dynasty. It is characterized by a small mouth, straight neck, globular body, and slightly concave base. During the Qing dynasty particularly in through the Qianlong period these became court favorites and were made using a wide variety of decorations.
