About “Award Vase”

This vase is generally used for the emperor's award, so it is called " award vase ", is an innovative ware type in the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, has continued to be fired until the end of the Qing Dynasty Xuan Tong dynasty. From Yongzheng to Xianfeng dynasty, most of the decorations were made of blue and white lotus, because "blue and white lotus(青莲 QingLian)" harmonizes with "incorruptness(清廉QingLian)", so the emperor gave it to his ministers in the hope that they would be "honest and upright for government".
